‘The Ship: Remastered’ Wants To Hear From You!
Edinburgh, Scotland – 10th December 2015 – BAFTA award-winning studio Blazing Griffin is reaching out to players of The Ship to hear their thoughts on the upcoming launch of The Ship: Remasted.
At the end of the most successful sales year in the 10 year lifetime of The Ship (surpassing the unit sales of 2012/3/4 combined), Blazing Griffin wants to talk to fans about their expectations for the future of the franchise.
Managing Director, Peter van der Watt says, “The communities that form around any game are important, but they are everything for multiplayer games. The experience of The Ship extends well beyond the confines of the game and across multiple gaming communities and groups of friends. The type of company we want to be means we want to be able to do as much as we can to help the community grow and this is driving force behind this move.”
As part of Blazing Griffin’s efforts to expand the franchise beyond the game, the company launched www.theshipgame.com recently. The microsite follows the diary entries of Lucille Franklin O’Sullivan who finds herself aboard the SS Cotopaxi and quickly notices that not everything is as it seems. Released with 36 diary entries and dozens more are schedule for publication each month throughout the launch of The Ship: Remasted.
Creative Director (Games), Stephen Hewitt adds, “One of the things we’ve set out to achieve with The Ship franchise is to expand the universe in different directions and allow fans to explore different aspects of the lore. We have much more planned on this front and we hope that Lucy’s Diary gives fans an opportunity to get an idea of where we’re heading.”
Blazing Griffin would like to invite fans of The Ship to drop by the Steam Community for The Ship: Remasted and get involved with the discussions: http://steamcommunity.com/app/383790/discussions/
The Ship: Remasted is due for launch in early 2016 at a price of $20 with a limited Beta period starting in January.
